4th Annual PCS Maker Fair

The annual PCS Maker Fair is a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness in celebration of the Maker Movement. Local Makers -- engineers, woodworkers, coders, artists, scientists, musicians, inventors, puppeteers, students, performers, and more -- share workshops and demonstrations in the spirit of community, collaboration, and innovation.

Our Fourth Annual PCS Maker Fair and Food Truck Rally was a resounding success! We saw more than 500 people, and together, we floated boats, built robots, faced ourselves, ate tacos, potted, painted faces, wobbled bots, constructed cardboard and funded a basketball hoop for our playground.

PCS students and teachers hosted a “Float Your Boat” station, inviting visitors to design, construct, and sail a working boat from natural and recycled materials in an impromptu pond.

The ever-popular PCS Cardboard Construction Station returned to engage visitors in large-scale, open-ended construction play.

Guests found live music on stage in the Maker auditorium and collaborative improv outside around the drum circle.

Visitors came to make, build, explore, play, learn, inquire, and create: below, Wobblebot building and physics with the Tesla Science Center.

While theater workshops, a drum circle, cardboard construction, a puppet show, interactive portrait painting, loose part play, turns at the potting wheel, lego robot coding, sewing, origami, and woodcarving kept guests engaged and entertained, it’s the sharing of passions — the collaboration and shared exploration for learning’s sake — that makes a Maker Fair so magical.

Thank you so much to all of the Makers, volunteers, friends, students, families and visitors who shared the day with us, and our generous sponsor Ultramotion! Let’s do it again next year — for our 5th annual Maker Fair!
