Transformative Clay Play in Early Childhood 4/5's

🤍Transformative clay play. Thanks to a visiting artist parent, our Early Childhood 4’s and 5’s spent the morning deeply engaged in making shapes and structures with clay.

Clay is so tactile, offers so much sensory feedback, that kids can’t help but be meaningfully absorbed in the experience. While they are of course building fine motor skills and developing all of the hand and finger muscles they need for writing, drawing and school tasks while they sculpt, they’re also discovering their own power to shape their world — just look at how all of their pushing, pulling, molding and rolling transforms the blocks of clay. Literally giving shape to their world.🤍
