Celebration of Learning Prep

Can’t talk now — Celebration of Learning prep is in full swing as students finish up a trimester’s worth of learning focused on the Cutchogue community! Our students have dedicated this trimester’s unit of study to discovering community in our new Cutchogue home. They’ve been out nearly everyday exploring the reaches of our wooded acres, the community of downtown Cutchogue, and the history of the hamlet. They’ve been to the library, the Village Green, the deli, the barber shop, the diner, the post office, the chocolatier(!) and more, taking the pulse of this new environment, discovering its history and finding ways to contribute.

And now the students are eager to host friends and family in their open classrooms and show them the depth and breadth of their learning. The Celebration of Learning is a chance for students to solidify and share what they’ve learned over the course of the trimester — the questions they began with, the insights they’ve gleaned, the connections they’ve made in the community — as they tour visitors through open classrooms and engage listeners in the story of our Integrated Studies Unit.

We can’t wait to open the doors next Thursday for an evening in celebration of our students, their hard work and this inspiring Cutchogue community!
