Getting ready for a new year

We love devoting thought, care and attention to creating intentional learning spaces. These spaces are designed to honor, nurture and celebrate children’s developmental stages and unique learning styles.💫

You’ll see lots of blank walls and clear surfaces. The spaces at PCS are co-created with the students — so, while we lay out a framework at the beginning of the year, we leave many spaces and decisions to the kids.

Over the course of the coming weeks, we’ll collaborate with the students to create spaces informed by their designs, ideas and work.

Together we’ll outline our Hopes and Dreams for the year and create Class Culture documents to help us understand what we need to support our learning — whether that’s spaces for quiet, large areas for group projects, or places to roam and explore. And our spaces will eventually reflect those decisions.

For now (and really all year long!) we’re a work in progress!
