Craft and Create: Woodworking Adventures with Aaron Bokros
10 sessions: Mondays, January 6th - March 17th, 3:15 - 4:30pm
Grades 3 through 8
Fee: $375/student
Maximum 10 students (minimum 6 enrollments to run the class)
Join us for an exciting after school program where creativity meets hands-on skills! You’ll learn essential woodworking skills like planning, designing, and selecting materials, including paint and finishes, while crafting something you can enjoy with friends.
Throughout the program, you’ll gain hands-on experience with woodworking techniques, empowering you to create unique projects that showcase your skills. Get ready for a blend of creativity, teamwork, and skill-building in a supportive environment. Whether you're a seasoned builder or a curious beginner, this program promises to ignite your passion for creating!
Imagine and Create: Puppets that Come to Life with Stephanie Grundy
10 sessions: Tuesdays, January 7th through March 18th, 3:15 - 4:30pm
Early Childhood 4/5 - 2nd Grade
Fee: $375/student
Maximum 10 students (minimum 6 enrollments to run the class)
In this creative puppet-making after school class students will dive into the fun and imaginative world of puppetry. Over 10 weeks, participants will explore a variety of materials and techniques to design and craft their own unique puppets. This hands-on experience will not only introduce the basics of puppet-making but also foster teamwork, creativity, storytelling, and performance skills. By the end of the program, students will have their very own collection of handmade puppets and will showcase their creations in a final puppet show. Students will tackle design challenges that promote problem-solving and storytelling, ultimately bringing their puppets to life in a performance.
Machine Sewing with Brooklyn Sewcial and Alexa Ward
10 sessions: Wednesdays, January 8th through March 19th, 3:15 - 4:30pm
Grades 3 through 8
Fee: $400/student ($35 materials fee included)
Maximum 7 students (minimum 6 enrollments to run the class)
Introducing Sewing Classes with Brooklyn Sewcial! Join Alexa Ward, author of Sewing For Kids, for engaging after school sessions focused on fashion and sewing. Students will not only learn the valuable skill of sewing but also create lasting friendships in a nurturing environment. Over ten classes, they'll have the opportunity to craft new and upcycled clothing, stuffed animals, pillows, pouches, and bags. Sewing machines and all materials provided by PCS.
Forensic Science with Shannon Timoney
10 sessions: Thursdays, January 9th through March 20th, 3:15 - 4:30pm
Grades 5 through 8
Fee: $375/student
Maximum 15 students (minimum 6 enrollments to run the class)
Dive into the thrilling world of investigative science with our after school Forensic Science Program! Designed for young detectives and science enthusiasts, this hands-on program explores the fascinating techniques used in crime scene investigation. Participants will engage in a series of interactive activities that combine science and critical thinking to solve mysteries. Participants will develop critical thinking and analytical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the scientific principles behind forensic investigation. This program encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and a passion for science in a fun, engaging environment.
Fencing with Jen Murray
10 sessions: Thursdays, January 9th through March 20th, 3:15 - 4:30pm
Grades 1 through 5
Fee: $425
Maximum 10 students (minimum 6 enrollments to run the class)
In our after school fencing class for beginners, students dive into the exciting world of this elegant sport. Led by experienced instructor Jen Murray, participants will learn the fundamentals of footwork, proper stance, and basic fencing techniques using foils. Each session emphasizes safety, discipline, and respect, while fostering teamwork and camaraderie among peers. Through engaging drills and friendly sparring matches, students will develop their skills, boost their confidence, and enjoy the thrill of friendly competition in a supportive environment. Whether you're brand new to fencing or looking to refine your skills, this class is the perfect introduction to the art of swordsmanship!
Private Lessons in Voice/Piano with Jenna Becker
10 lessons offered Mondays, Wednesdays *or* Thursdays, January 6th - March 20th
30 minute time slots available between 3:15 and 4:45pm
Grades 1 — 8 for Voice and Grades K - 8 for Piano
Fee: $575 for 10 thirty minutes lessons
Voice: 30 minute private lessons with Ms. Jenna working towards improving musical technique. Learning about breath, registers of the voice, resonance, tone, and preparation for an audition and end of the session recital.
Piano: Students will practice note reading and playing, rhythm, efficient practicing, ear training and preparing to play for an audience at an end of the session recital.
Private Lessons in Piano with PCS Alum Asen Roussan
10 lessons offered Tuesdays, January 7th - March 18th

Fee: $575 for 10 thirty minutes lessons
