The Music Lab x East End Jazz

East End Jazz — a nonprofit dedicated to bringing jazz education to life on the East End — brought live jazz and the stories behind it straight to our students. Musicians shared the history and practice of this beloved art form, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm across all our grades, and speaking particularly to our third graders who have dedicated the semester to the Harlem Renaissance. It’s all part of our semester-long Integrated Unit, The Music Lab: Sound, Story and Connection, and exactly the kind of real-world, community-rooted learning we love. So grateful for this collaboration!
