Letting Students Shape the Classroom

We believe in empowering students to shape their learning environments. First grade’s shape is a circle of consideration and kindness.

At PCS, each class of students works together at the beginning of the year to create a classroom agreement that clarifies the expectations in the classroom and encourages a safe, inclusive and productive learning space for students to do their very best learning. These agreements serve as the foundation for mutual respect, active listening and shared responsibility throughout the school year.

Inspired by “The Circles All Around US” by @bradmontague , First graders created a classroom agreement that helps them widen their circle of consideration throughout the classroom so that all student have what they need to do their best learning.

Be careful with our materials. Include others. Share. Be Kind. Be a Good Listener. Spread Love. Say Sorry. Be Helpful.
