A Self-Made, Child-Directed Outdoor Playspace

Life lately in our students’ self-made outdoor playspace.🤍 This kind of play environment, as oppose d to a more traditional playground, features fewer defined structures and lots more opportunities for exploration, invention and experimentation. Loose parts, the natural world, dramatic play and physical challenge lead the way in an ever-changing landscape of child-initiated and -directed free play. We see new games and new environments invented and edited every day — from kitchens to caves, exploration to organized expeditions — all from the basis of an open-ended play space offered to innately capable and creative kids.
